Remembrance Day 11th Nov. -
Pray for families affected by the war in Afghanistan, especially for Christians who may get alongside them.
Pray for our Prime Minister and the President of the USA, both of whom face tough decisions about troop deployment which could affect the duration of the conflict.
The mission of the Church
Beth Brown is at prsent in North India, with a Tearfund team helping support the work of Emmanuel Hospitals Association. Pray for her team, her health, their safety, their empathy with those they meet.
Our mission Partners in Serbia, Chris and Lotta Strajnic, focus continually on the teaching ministry through local lay leaders. Pray for their skill in tutoring, their effectiveness in choosing where and who to work with. The Marriage Course, the Christianity Explored course are two of those they use (not in English, by the way!).
Leaders' conference 11th-13th Nov.
The clergy of hte diocese are meeting for 2 nights for a bi-annual conference. Church Army chief executive Mark Russell, and Bishop Richard Henderson (Tuam) are speaking, to encourage exhort and - maybe - exasperate the ministerial crowd! Please prya for the usefulness of this meeting. The sharing of news and views can be enriching and encouraging, the vision of togetherness can be strengthening too; and initiatives can emerge from a get-together such as this. By your prayers , make sure it is worth it!
Local matters.
Please pray for communication between Glenavy Devpt. Partnership and residents' groups and the police over social disorder in Glenavy. And pray there will be no 'copycat' attaks on property after the arson attack on 12 Main Street.
Pray for wisdom for the planners as they assess the case for a farm-waste incinerator on the Ballyvannon Road.
